Just forgetful, or more? On World Alzheimer’s Day
Today is World Alzheimer’s Day. 💜
Forgetting a name, misplacing your keys, or momentarily losing your train of thought—everyone has experienced this, and most of the time it’s harmless. It just happens when you’re stressed, haven’t slept well, or things get hectic.
You should take notice if familiar routes suddenly seem unfamiliar, words are consistently forgotten, or everyday tasks become difficult—and if these symptoms worsen over the course of weeks.
The first step is a consultation at our practice. Often, there’s an easily treatable underlying cause: stress, depression, a vitamin deficiency, or a thyroid disorder.
We can administer the Mini-Mental Test right here at our practice: a short test with simple questions and tasks related to orientation, memory, math, language, and drawing. It takes only a few minutes, isn’t a substitute for a diagnosis, but provides an initial indication—and helps you decide whether further evaluation is advisable.
Are you worried about yourself or someone you care for? Talk to us—we’ll make time for you.
Your team at Familienpraxis Tirol 💚
