Early Detection of Breast Cancer: What You Should Know About Screening and Mammography
🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. If detected early, the chances of a cure are good.
Know your body, at any age 💚 Check your breasts once a month. If you’re on your period, it’s best to do it just before or after. Pay attention to any new changes. However, self-examination is not a substitute for a mammogram.
A family history of breast cancer or symptoms? Early detection is important at any age. With a referral, you can get a mammogram at any age and as often as necessary. Talk to us—we’ll be happy to advise you.
The Early Detection Program: Are you between 45 and 74? ✅ Mammogram every 2 years ✅ Your E-Card is automatically activated for this purpose ✅ A reminder letter is sent by mail every 2 years ✅ Free and voluntary
Are you between 40 and 44 or 75 and older? You can then register once—either by calling the service line at 0800 500 181 or visiting frueh-erkennen.at. After that, you’ll also go for a screening every 2 years with your e-card. Feel free to talk to us beforehand.
