🌊 25 July is World Drowning Prevention Day. Right now, when you’re cooling off at our Tyrolean lakes, it’s worth a quick look at the most important rules.
The most important water-safety rules
- Always keep children within arm’s reach at the water – a few seconds are enough.
- Never jump into cold water overheated or right after eating.
- No alcohol before swimming.
- Only swim where you know the bottom and can judge your own strength.
- Inflatable animals are no substitute for a proper flotation aid – they drift off quickly.
And most important: people who are drowning usually don’t scream or wave. They go under silently. Look out for one another – especially the little ones.
Enjoy the summer – but stay alert at the water. 💚
